Arlene (Gritter) TerMeer, age 97, of Grandville, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Justin TerMeer; son, Justin Wayne “Butch”; infant daughter, Deborah Ruth; and granddaughters, Lisa Gryzen, Tiffany TerMeer, and Kelly TerMeer. Arlene was a loving and kind mother and grandmother who treasured time spent with her family and friends; whether playing dice, swimming with the grandkids, trips with family, or simply sharing a piece of chocolate. Arlene was a faithful prayer warrior, always covering her children and grandchildren in prayer. She will be greatly missed by her children, Cheryl (Stan) DeWitt, Janice (Steve) Hammons, Patricia (Bob) Pyper, Kenneth (Karen) TerMeer, Jack TerMeer; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Tumbling, and Phyllis Sharphorn; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Huyser, Betty Haan, Marge (Bob) Smith, Aloha Meyer, Dorothy (Marty) Goller, Cecelia Gritter-Truesdell; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to her caregivers at Sunset Legacy Foundation (Brookcrest) and Emmanuel Hospice. A private family graveside service will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
