
Antoinette Slot (Veenstra), age 93, of Jenison, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 1, 2017, into the arms of her Lord and Savior and has now received her Heavenly reward. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence; 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-laws, her dear friend Marge Bigelow; and her grandson David VanLiere. Annette will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Nancy and Dennis VanLiere, Jan and Jack Hankamp; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Joy and Greg Kobylak (Kyla, Kaden, Selah), Jennie and Matt Boelema (Bronson, Carter), Josh and Ashley Hankamp (Hunter, Callie, Arden, Jack), Laura and Mike Miller (Ethan, August), Heidi Viveiros (Chloe, Faith). Having a servant’s heart and hands, Annette baked hundreds of meals and apple pies for family, friends and those in need. Along with volunteering at The Other Way Ministries for 44 years, she also faithfully served at Bible Study Fellowship, The Gideons, and Faith Reformed Church. Even though her memory was failing, Annette remained a joy-filled, content and appreciative woman of faith who was a true prayer warrior. She was grateful to her God for His constant presence and provision. Annette lives in the hearts of all she touched. The family is grateful for the Christian heritage she passed down from generation to generation and for the loving care given by the staff at Georgetown Manor and Hospice. A celebration of Annettes’ life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev, Bruce Osbeck officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 pm. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Reformed Church Food Pantry or the Sunshine Class.
