Anna Sterk

Anna Sterk, age 72 of Jenison, Michigan, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Sterk; children and grandchildren: Ross and Kerri Sterk (Andrew, Blake, Evalyn), Gayle and Mike Bolt (Austin and Carson), Joel and Ashley Sterk (Anthony and Ava); brother, Ed (Sya) Vogelzang; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marcia (Evart) Helms, Gord (Shirley) Sterk, Janice (Tom) Sjoerdsma, Bruce (Karen) Sterk, Ruthann (Greg) Kroll, Beverly (Kevin) VanDyke, Connie (Kevin) Wolffis; and many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruby Vogelzang and her oldest brother, Sjoerd Vogelzang.

Ann immigrated from Friesland, Netherlands with her family. They made their home in Holland, Michigan. It is there where she met Ronald Sterk. Along with raising her three children Ann did various jobs including working as a bank teller, selling Avon, and working in school food service. She enjoyed family time on the water, campfires at the cabin, babysitting her grandkids, time with her dear friends, and mentoring through Kid’s Hope. Ann was known for her infectious laugh, and you always knew when she entered the room. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as “Grannie Annie.”

We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord. Until we meet again, her love will guide us, her faith will inspire us, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. 

Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM – 8:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at First CRC of Hudsonville, 5486 32nd Ave, Hudsonville with Pastor Dave Jolman officiating. Friends and family are welcome to visit one hour prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Unity Christian High School or Kid’s Hope USA.
