Anita Joyce (Postmus) MacDonald, age 59, of Jenison, was called home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Anita had a vibrant personality and a vivacious spirit that drew people to her. Known as everyone's "mom", she had a remarkable gift of conversation and made anyone feel welcome and heard, whether it was a coworker, friend, or stranger in line at the grocery store. She loved spending time over a good cup of coffee with family and friends, enjoying meaningful conversations, reading, and playing games together. Anita was deeply proud of her 35-year career in banking and finance, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. More than the accomplishments themselves, she found joy in using her work to help others, always approaching life with warmth, generosity, and care.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gerry MacDonald; and her mother, Annie Postmus. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, John MacDonald, Alyssa MacDonald; father, John Postmus; brother, Tim and Amy Postmus and their son, TJ; along with Alyssa Meister, Remy Jensen, and Wyatt Jensen, whom she was a chosen “mom” and “aunt” to, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday, February 16, from 1-3 p.m. at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress Dr., Jenison. A service to celebrate Anita’s life will be held following the visitation at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Matthew Palsrok officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed via this link.
