He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Youells, July of 2021. Andy was born in Detroit. He graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in June 1983. Andy took great pride in his work. He spent many years on the road as a long-haul truck driver, a longtime childhood dream, and made many lifelong friends. In 2004, he went to school to become an engineer for CSX railroad. He was often described as a gentle giant and wouldn’t hesitate to help strangers in need. Andy loved his family and friends deeply and gave himself fully in all that he did. He wouldn’t go a day without at least one cup of coffee. He loved spending time fishing with his father, camping with his family, and tinkering with his “toys” in the garage. A service to celebrate Andy’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 227 Fulton Street E., Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
