Andrew Hofstee

Andrew John Hofstee, age 17, of Hopkins, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 24, 2020,  and is now in the arms of Jesus. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Dalstra; and his great-grandparents, Roland and Wilma Talsma. Andrew loved spending time playing video games and enjoyed the company of his dogs and cats. He was mechanically inclined and hoped someday to become a machinist. He enjoyed singing in the choir at Hopkins High School where he was a senior this year. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Dawn and John Hofstee II; siblings, Abby and Christian Jones, Mackenzie Wiersma, Lindsi Wiersma, and Elina Wiersma; grandparents, John and Cindy Hofstee, Steve and Janelle Dalstra, Barbara Talsma; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Dave Alderman officiating. The burial will take place at Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, October 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Andrew’s name to Hopkins High School Performing Arts.
