Andrew Droge

Andrew Jacob Droge, age 99, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn Droge; daughter, Denise Bruggink; son-in-law, Nick Kooiker; sister, Nella Kreuzer; and brother, Jim Droge. He will be lovingly remembered by his second wife of 27 years, Cecilia Droge; children, Duane and Cathryn Droge, Joycelyn Kooiker; son-in-law, John Bruggink; grandchildren, John and Karie Droge, Camilla Yurchenko, Nicole and Bryan DeYoung, Andrea and Ben Westdorp, Drew and Rachel Kooiker, Seth Kooiker, Jonathon and Amanda Bruggink, Lindsey and Doug Miedema, Joshua and Elaine Bruggink, Jacob and Alexandria Bruggink; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Angie Bosscher, Roy and Arlene Droge; extended family and friends. Andy proudly served in the US Navy during World War II as a Radioman. He was also a charter member of Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church. Andrew retired after many years as a carpenter and income tax preparer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Bauer Christian Reformed Church, 4958 Bauer Rd., Hudsonville, with Pastor Dave TenClay and Rev. Jim Evenhouse officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 28, from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
