Amber Joy VandenBerg

Amber Joy VandenBerg, age 28, of Jenison, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 27, 2014.  Amber was a loving, compassionate and caring person who was determined to bring a smile to all she met, despite her own illness and pain.  She founded Crowns of Blessing to provide support and caring to other cancer patients.  She will be lovingly remembered by her  loving and devoted husband, Michael VandenBerg; her parents, Les and Barb Berkenpas; brothers, Jason, and Micah Berkenpas; sister, Lisa Berkenpas; grandparents, Les and Marge Berkenpas, and Cliff and Marion Nederveld; parents-in-law, Butch and Sue VandenBerg; brother-in-law, Rob VandenBerg; sisters-in-law, Julie and Scott Tripp, Shari and Steve Hansen; 22 nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; and her special canine companion, Mya.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 1:00 PM at Bethel United Reformed Church, 2025 Baldwin Street, Jenison with Rev. Jason Tuinstra officiating.  Interment Winchester Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 5-9 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Crowns of Blessing.
