Alvin J. Kuipers, age 85, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 11, 2016. It is with saddened hearts we say our earthly goodbyes to him, but we rejoice and celebrate that he is home in heaven with Jesus and reunited with his wife of 63 years, Joyce, who passed away on April 1, 2016. Al retired from Jenison Post Office after 30 years of service, loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his wife, Al was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Adriana Kuipers; brother Bernie Kuipers; mother and father-in-law, Jacob and Gertrude Wierenga; brother-in-law, Ken and Suzy Wierenga; sister-in-law, Sandra Ensing. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karen and Jim Rider, Bob and Sharon Kuipers, Susan and John Domanski, Mary and Russell Povenz, Terri and Tim Boer; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Dick and Mary Kuipers; sister-in-law, Eileen Kuipers; brother-in-law, Tom Ensing; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Fair Haven Church, 2900 Baldwin St., Hudsonville with Rev. Harvey Heneveld officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6 to 9 PM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
