November 8, 2022

Alois “Al” Huf, age 91, of Hudsonville, saw the face of his Lord and Savior and was reunited with his loving wife of 70 years, Poldie, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. He was also preceded in death by all 5 of his siblings and his precious great-grandson, Wesley Vance Mullikin. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jana and Denny Gale, Marie Nordstrom and Bruce Peckham, Debra and Mark Owens, Joe and Tami Huf, Cristie Jo and Jerry Johnston, Susie and Bruce Kramer; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; extended family and friends. Al and Poldie came to the United States in 1956, from Germany, after coming to know the Lord through missionaries Charles and Edna Lukesh. Al and Poldie’s journey from humble beginnings was not easy. Still, many others helped along the way, particularly Henrietta and Gerrit Schut, who sponsored their arrival in Hudsonville, Michigan. Al was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and helpmate to Poldie. He partnered with her to raise 20,000 laying hens during their years on the farm and joined her in building the original By*Pas business. Al and Poldie spent many years ministering with Forgotten Man Ministries to inmates at the Ottawa County Jail. Years ago, they also ministered at various local churches by singing for special music. Because of his deep faith in the Lord Jesus, his last wish was that no one is left behind and all may come to know the Lord. A special thanks to the “angels” at Sheldon Meadows and Spectrum Hospice for the loving, compassionate care they gave Dad. On Thursday, November 17, 2022, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Jenison Bible Church, 6360 14th Avenue, Hudsonville, MI, with Rev. Jerry Johnston officiating. Burial at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 10-11 a.m. before the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Samaritan’s Purse or Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry (FKA Forgotten Man Ministries). Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. 3 John 1:4 “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth”.
