
Alita Price, age 93, of Jenison, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Alita was born May 31, 1931, in Grand Rapids to Marion and Helen Haskins. She graduated from Mt. Mercy Academy. She worked at the Four Star Movie Theatre and Kendall Furniture. She was involved in her children’s activities serving as a Cub Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, and teaching Catholic CCD classes. Her passion was horses, especially Kimmy, a Palomino, which she raised from birth. She enjoyed writing poetry for family and friends, square dancing, playing cards, the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk, eating out at Mr Burger and Big Boys, and being a Domino Champion. She treasured time with family at birthday parties, sports, reunions, graduations, and other social events. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley F. Price, mother, Helen Haskins. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Loretta and Phillip Grow, Stephen Price, Brian and Ann Price; grandchildren: Joshua Grow, Andrew Grow, Rebecca and Gregory Smith, Courtney Petersen, Nicholas Price, Cindy and Tony Sieler, Valerie and Phillip Rohloff, Kimberly and Charles Dobbs Jr, Scott and Francesca Price; many great grandchildren; half-sister, Myrna Haskins; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Church, 2700 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. Phong Q. Pham presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. An additional visitation will be held at church one hour prior to the service on Friday. According to Alita, “Do as much as you can for as long as you can.”
