Alice Huizinga

  Alice Huizinga (Vander Loon), age 89, of Jenison, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 13, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Huizinga; son, Daniel  Huizinga; and daughter, Ruth Burgess.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Richard and Theresa Huizinga, Jack and Melissa Huizinga, Carol Huizinga, Janis and Daryle Kuiper; 21 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Arlene Vander Loon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Joanne Huizinga, Robert and Linda Huizinga, Alvin Huizinga, James and Barbara Huizinga, Judith and Cornelius DeKorne; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, at 11:00 AM at Hope Protestant Reformed Church, 1580 Ferndale SW, Walker with Rev. David Overway officiating.  Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday, May 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Sunset Manor and Faith Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Alice.
