Alene T. Post

Alene Thressa Post, age 89, of Kentwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Andrew.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Jane) Post, Janice (Mike) Stafford, Diane Nelson, Cheryl (Steven) Rotman; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister Marilyn VanderLaan, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Alene was a loving, kind, caring, gracious wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved playing cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed going to Holland State Park, traveling with family and friends, and singing in the church choir at East Paris Christian Reformed Church; but most of all loved spending time with her family.  She was a faith filled woman who raised four children in the Christian Reformed faith. The family would like to thank the staff of Breton Woods and Faith Hospice for their loving compassion and care.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Avenue SE. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2019, 11 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Guter, Breton Woods Chaplain, officiating.  Interment Winchester Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Barnabas Foundation or the Grand Rapids Christian School Association.
