Mary Lorraine Burns, age 96, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Sherry Spaulding; and son, Patrick Burns. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Mary Lou Wanrooy, Michael and Mary Burns, Christy and Greg Green, Rosemary Weaver; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended Marywood and later Aquinas College, where she met her husband. She loved to golf and play bridge. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1935 Plymouth Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, with Fr. Troy Nevins presiding. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
