Marianne Czechowskyj, age 65, of Allendale passed away peacefully on Friday, February 15, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Mildred Lovins. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Mike; children, Rebecca and Chris Lehman, Michael David and Brandi Czechowskyj, Rachael Czechowskyj and husband Nathan Yalcin; grandchildren, Emma, Nolan, Caleb and Georgia Lehman, Alice and Evelynn Czechowskyj; sister and brothers, Phyllis VanderWerff, Doug Lovins, Fred Brack, John Brack, Jim Brack; cousins, nieces and nephews; and many students, teachers and dear friends. Marianne loved Michigan, teaching, her students, and spending time with friends, family, and most of all, her grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Marianne’s life will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Life Stream Church, 6561 Lake Michigan Dr., Allendale, 49401, with Pastor Jason Klepal officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Allendale) 6651 Scott St., Allendale, 49401, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Critter Barn, the Allendale Elementary School Library, or the John Ball Zoological Society. The family wishes to thank Marianne’s long time physician, Dr. Drumm, and the wonderful staff at the Neuro ICU at Spectrum Butterworth for their compassionate care. Marianne loved graphic t-shirts that celebrate our great state of Michigan. In honor of her epic collection of tacky tourist t-shirts, please feel free to wear yours to the visitation or memorial service.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Though, I never had the opportunity to meet and get to know Mrs. Czechowskyj, I've got to know Mike and his family well. You did a fantastic job of raising a great son. From having a part in naming Grand Valley, to being a great teacher and community advocate, Mike has shared many great qualities and things he is proud of being your son.

Marianne was such a wonderful teacher, parent, and friend. She inspired and encouraged me every time I saw her, and I loved her sense of humor and the way her understanding, care, and love touched my life and so many others. Mrs. C was such a wonderful teacher. My daughter had Mrs. C three years ago. Whenever we would run into Mrs. C, whether at school or outside of school, she always had a big hug for Tara and would stop to chat with us. Our condolences to the family for your loss. Mrs. C will most certainly be missed by many.

My heart broke to see this......
You have left an indelible mark in the lives of these children you have taught over the years......you always brought such happiness and had and hugs for all. I was always amazed how you could recall all past students so easily...along with their siblings...truly one of a kind person!
