Donald M. Bont

Donald M. Bont, age 95, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2018.  He was born in Grand Rapids, the son of John Jr. and Nellie Bont. Don served in the Air Force for four years and was employed as a mail carrier for 40 years.  After retiring, he volunteered at the Wyoming Police Department for 18 years. Don was a lifelong member of Beverly Reformed Church where he sang in the choir and served on the consistory.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to Gospel music, and liked to travel and camp in 48 states. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Harriet Bont; and his sister, Phyllis Bont.  He is survived by his children, Barbara and Jeffrey Valerio, David and Nancy Bont, Roger and Vicki Bont; grandchildren, Alice and Joseph Dimiceli, Kristina “Tia” and Cam Goff; great-grandchildren, Brennan Dimiceli, Audrey Dimiceli; brother, Eugene and Phyllis Bont; sister, Patricia and Jaye Miller; and his nieces and nephews. The family will hold a memorial gathering in honor of Donald at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Beverly Reformed Church.
