Wilma “Babe” Boersen

Wilma “Babe” Boersen, age 102, of Jamestown, went home to glory on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; daughter, Marlene Vis; great-granddaughter, Mary Lynn Brower. Wilma will be lovingly remembered by children, Harry D. and Mary Boersen,  Lonnie Vis, Nancy Brower; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Terry Kroll, Sarah Boersen, Greg and Angie Brower, Mike and Linda Vis, Michelle and Eric Usselman, Gail and Curt Mulder; 16 great-grandchildren; special friends and neighbors, Judy Hoekstra, Christy VerStrate, Ann and Harold Brouwer, Diane Pater and Kay Headley.  Family would like to thank the staff at the Atrium in Zeeland for their excellent care, and to all her friends and neighbors. Wilma was the last of ten children of John and Grietje Boorsma. She was the first of her family to graduate from high school (Grandville). She was a member of Jamestown Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday School. Wilma enjoyed making baby quilts for Mission in Aid. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 11 am at Jamestown Reformed Church, 2554 Riley St., Jamestown, MI, 49427 with Pastor Brent Beckett officiating.  Interment Bentheim Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4 - 8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, and from 10 - 10:45 am Friday at church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jamestown Reformed Church.

So sorry to hear of her passing. she is walking with the Lord & looking down at you smiling knowing how much you love and miss her. We did not know her but she is still family. My husband's father was Bert Boersen on Holland.

Aunt Babe, as we called her, not an aunt by blood, but better! She was sweet, kind, loving and a wonderful lady. She will always hold a special place in my heart!
