Virginia “Ginny” Valeria Misak (Sepanik)

Virginia “Ginny” Valeria Misak (Sepanik), age 91 of Wyoming - wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019. Virginia was born in Chicago on August 26, 1927 and grew up on a farm in Wayland, Michigan, which remains in the family. She married Steve Misak and they shared a life together for 61 years. Ginny was a long-time, active member of St. John Vianney Church.

Virginia worked for Powers Electric, and then enjoyed volunteering for 32 years at St. Mary’s Hospital. Ginny enjoyed bowling, being social, and wintering in Florida for many years. Ginny was a woman who made herself useful. Her kids could always count on her for babysitting, washing windows, yard work, etc. She was well known for baking pies, holiday nut roll, and fishing on Pickerel Lake. “My grandchildren are my hobby,” Ginny often said proudly.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Misak; and her brothers: Edward, John, and Edmund Sepanik. She is survived by her three children: Karen (John) Beukema, Kathy Misak (Rod Geers), and Steven (Myrna) Misak; six grandchildren: Jason, Kevin (Ashley), Tess (fiancé Will), Amy (Gus), Mitch, and Connie (Jacob); plus five great-grandchildren: Claire, Isabella, Trevor, Theo, and Wilber.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Byron Manor Meadow Place and Spectrum Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Fr. John Vallier presiding.  The family will meet relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with a vigil at 7:30 p.m.

My condolences to the Misak families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Virginia. A few Bible scriptures that has helped me during times of loss is Isaiah 26:19 which says "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says at John 5:28, 29- "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to the ransom of Jesus Christ. Thus, we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.

Kathy and Rod, and the greater Misak family: We are so deeply sorry for your loss. We didn't know your mom, grandmom, etc. but are sure she was a sweet lady who will be dearly missed. We will keep you in our prayers.
