Sheryl Lyn Engbers, age 70, of Dutton, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 10, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Charlotte Kuipers, and her sister, Julie Sandri. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dave of 50 years; their children, Todd, Chad (Susanna), Troy; grandchildren, Ben, Elliot, Liam, Evan, Jake, Jeanette; brother Mel Kuipers and sister, Marcia Baar. Memorial services for Sheryl will be held 2 pm on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Peter Jonker and Rev. Kristy Manion officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.

Sher truly was incomparable…a standard all her own. It has been a sincere privilege from our hearts to have her as a friend for so many years, she was loved and her passing will leave a void in our lives. Our condolences to Dave, Todd, Chad, Troy, and all of her family, and others she touched. Dave and Kel.

I first became acquainted with Sheryl through the Stephen’s Ministry. She was my caregiver and was so faithful in meeting with me. She had an infectious laugh. Cheryl would mount photographs from places she had been on a piece of cardstock with a verse on the back. I still have them on my dresser for encouragement. She will truly be missed.
