Raymond Frans, age 84, of Grandville, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, May 17, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann; son, Ray, Jr., and his parents Leo and Gertrude Frans.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Patrcia Mosketti, Susan and Brandon Ogle, and John Frans; grandchildren, Joseph Mosketti, Steve Mosketti, Tony Frans, Will Ogle, Sean Ogle, Lauren Frans, Daniel Frans; great-grandchildren; Caiden, Dominic, Luca, and Keirra; brother Ronald and Sharon Frans,  many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Ray valiantly served his country in the Army during the Korean War.  Ray was a devoted and active Catholic helping to start and support Our Lady of Sorrows Church.  In his later years he enjoyed hunting for beads to make rosaries for family and friends.  He was a devoted, caring, and loving husband, father and grandfather.  Ray enjoyed a 25 year career with the Steelcase Corporation.  He loved to hunt, fish, travel with Mary Ann, and spend winters in Florida. The family would like to thank Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living and Spectrum Hospice for their wonderful care of Ray.   A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 20, at 11 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Hall Street, Grand Rapids, with Fr. Ted Kozlowski Celebrant.  The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am at church.   Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
