Patrick James Walsh, age 76, of Allendale, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, January 10, 2020.  He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Scott Walsh. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda; mother, Virginia Walsh; children, Denise Walsh-Phillips, Deborah and George Nedomlel, Brian and Uli Walsh; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Bruce Bolhuis, Tyler Phillips, Joe Phillips, Maxwell Flaherty, Sean Walsh, Greg Steigler; great-grandchildren, Madilyn Bolhuis and Bruce Bolhuis; siblings, Kathy and Bill Batchelder, Barb and Dave Zaskiewicz, Mike and Sally Walsh, Kevin and Mary Walsh; brother-in-law, Gerald and Mary Hunsburger; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Pat was a warm, caring, loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was a faith-filled man who put God and his family above all else.  Pat valiantly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force.  According to Pat, “He was a jack of all trades; and master of none!”  He was an avid golfer and loved playing in Texas during the winter.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, 11 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave., Coopersville, with Fr. Ayub Francis Nasar presiding.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St., 49401, and Wednesday from 10-11 am prior to the service at church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lacks Cancer Center or Emmanuel Hospice.

I remember Pat as a boy, a good friend of my brother, Dick Weidenfeller. The two, with Frank Fuller, were always together in the area of Plainfield and Kensboro NE in the 1950s/1960s.

A wonderful husband to my sister during 54 year of marriage. A fun guy to be with, A huge help whenever you needed to repair something. Always had a smile and a good story. My partner in Setback against our wives we lost more than we won but had a great time). A person who cared deeply for his kids and grand kids. Notre Dame lost a passionate fan...we all lost a great friend and family member. May be rest in peace.
