Max Renauldo

Max Renauldo, age 22, of Grand Rapids, was called to be with his Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Friday, August 23, 2019.  He will be lovingly remembered by his parents; Julie McGrath-Renauldo and Ralph Renauldo, his brothers; Justin (Lacey Ferro), Zachery, nephew; Korben, grandfather; Burr McGrath, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Max was a man of integrity and virtue.  He was very health conscious and maintained a high level of physical fitness.  Max was a member of the Army National Guard.  His three greatest priorities were Glory of God, family and country.  He loved his brothers and was confident, a counselor and a good example for his friends and family.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 30, 11:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish, 156 Valley Ave SW, Grand Rapids (corner of Park and Garfield) with Rev. Don Lomasiewicz presiding.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family from 9:30 to 11:00 am prior to the service at the church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

  3. Thank you Lord for sending Max our way. I truly admired him. He was a blessing for sure. We had much in common, including the military. He was enormously respectful to those who served. Associating with Max, especially when he was still in school, will always be one of the joys of my teaching career. God bless his family.

  5. It’s so hard losing someone as bright and amazing as Max. Just being around him made you want to be a better person. I will miss you brother, rest easy Max. I will see you again one day this isn’t goodbye.

  6. Max was a thinker. He wanted to know the what, the why, the when, and the how come, of all things. I had the opportunity to teach Max, Health Education at Delton Kellogg High School. His physical health meant everything to him, yet the mental/emotional and social health areas were difficult for him to process. The day the lightbulb went off was when he stopped me his senior year and said, (paraphrasing) – I appreciate that you tried to get me to like Health class—-I didn’t feel like it was important but, it all was. Thanks for continuing to push me even when I didn’t want to believe my mental & emotional health were as important as my physical. I’ll keep working on it. Thanks.” I’ll never forget his smirk, his passion to push others, and his ability to teach everyone he met along the way—-even me. Sending all the love to family and friends. His memories will live on forever. 💚

  7. Dear Ralph and Julie, and Zach – I am SO sorry to hear the news of Max passing on Friday. Renee and I just saw Ralph, Max and Zach at the Amway picnic last Sunday at John Ball Zoo and it was so fun to catch up and recall times of the boys in their younger years at Kelloggsville. We had no idea that would be the last time we would see Max. My heart and prayers go out to the entire family for such a great loss. Max was a great person, for sure and will be missed.

  12. Your son stood out to me in a group of soldiers as a friend who also believed deeply in Jesus Christ. It was so refreshing to know that there was another guy who had a deep faith and I did not feel alone. Even after our military paths took us to different places, I always kept in mind that I knew I wasn’t praying alone anymore, that someone else was also praying for our future. He will not be forgotten.
