June Marilyn Westveer, age 80, passed peacefully from this life into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Albertha Hofman, her in-laws, Frank and Tressa Westveer, brothers, Gordon and Delbert Hofman, and brother-in-law, Sherwood (Butch) Westveer.  She will be dearly missed by her husband of 61 years, Roger; her children, Alissa and Dan Donnelly, Chris and Karen, Derek and Kim, Jeremy and Sara Westveer; grandchildren, Brittney (Karl), Kody (Dr. Carli), Abby, Michael, Kelsey (Dylan), Bryar, McKenna, Dalton, Brennan, Grahm, Averie, and Ella; sister, Nelva and Ken Nymeyer; brother, Arlen and Lynda Hofman;sisters-in-law, Joanne Kellogg, Sharyl Westveer, Ruthanne Hofman, Barbara Hofman; and many nieces and nephews. Also dear to June’s heart were her church family at Hope CRC and many special friends.   The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Blodgett Hospital and Faith Hospice who cared for June these last few weeks.  June was a wonderful, caring, loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a servant’s heart.  She always thought of others before herself and even in the hospital wanted to make sure that others were taken care of.  She was dedicated to her family and especially her grandchildren.  She attended her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, where she was known as the “Candy Lady” because she always passed around her purse which was brimming with candy and gum.  June drove the special needs bus for Grandville Public Schools for 22 years.  The memorial service will be held Monday, September 23 at 11:00 am at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3110 Barrett St. SW, Grandville with Rev. Dale Fopma presiding.   Friends and relatives may meet the family from 5 - 8 pm on Sunday, September 22 at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr SW, 49418.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Christian Reformed Church, Faith Hospice, or Grandville Area Friendship Ministries.

Auntie June will so missed be all of us. Auntie June was one of the greatest people to know. There is a time that stands out about Auntie June my sister and I weren't talking for a while and she pulled both of us away from the gathering and told us that life is to short to be arguing and to just get over it and to this day I still think about that when we have a disagreement . She will always have my heart. Love Becky

Uncle Roger, and family. I extend my deepest sympathies to you ALL. May the soul of Auntie June be at peace with our Heavenly Father. She had the warmest smile, softest hugs and had a heart of pure Gold. I have some fond memories of her. I will miss her but will be forever grateful to have her as my Angel. “The sun, the moon, the wind, the stars, will forever be around, reminding you of the love you shared, and the peace she’s finally found.” – Author Unknown. Love you 💕Carrie

Roger-I will miss talking with June at church. She was always so upbeat. She would never dwell on her own situation; but would always ask how Joel was doing. She was just a great encourager to us during Jim's illness. Keeping you in our prayers.

Loved her dearly. Even the last time I saw her she wasn’t feeling the best but still just wanted to hear about the boys and I. She will always hold a very dear spot in my heart and remember the many conversations we had. Sympathy and so glad she is now pain free and walking in Heaven. Love to all your family.
