Jannes “Joe” Stuive, age 81, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Joe worked in the printing industry and worked hard to provide for his loving family. He loved a good bargain and enjoyed buying and selling various odds and ends he came across. Joe also enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter months. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Darling; sister-in-law, Deb Roedema; and brother-in-law, Jim Carlon. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Stuive; children: Scott and Barb Stuive, Todd and Kathy Stuive, Eric and Jessica Stuive, Timothy and Alissa Stuive; grandchildren: Mitchell and Kendra Stuive, Tara and Adam VanDis, Cody and Kristi Stuive, Colten Stuive; Josh Stuive, Cameron and Kristin Stuive, Megan and Ryan Ricketson, Ashley and Nate Palace; Alexander, Elijah, Malachi, and Samuel Stuive; Nathan, Ella, Sawyer, and Brody Stuive; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Abigail, and Brielle Stuive; Connor, William, and Annalise VanDis; Carter Stuive; siblings: Joyce and Dean Lattman, Gert and John Dykema, John and Carol Stuive, Jack and Sue Stuive, Bob and Karren DeYoung, Chuck and Mary Roedema, and Pat Carlon; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, 1571 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. Len Kuyvenhoven officiating. Interment will be held at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Right to Life of Holland or a Christian school of one’s choice.
