Gerrit Lloyd DeWaard

Gerrit Lloyd DeWaard, age 81, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Gerrit was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; children, Jeff and Kerri DeWaard, Jennifer and Dan Sterk, Jessica and Ben Poll; 6 grandchildren; also survived by his siblings, Sandy Postema, Vonnie Ouwinga, Glenn and Robbie DeWaard; sister-in-law, Carol and Jim Eberhardt.  Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Kelloggsville CRC (610 52nd St. SE, Kentwood) with Rev. Martin Benckhuysen officiating. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood) and one hour prior to service at church.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to the family to help offset expenses.
