Frederick Tape

Frederick “Fritz” Lynn Tape, age 79, of Caledonia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Tyler Moederzoon and Bradley Scott Tape; sisters, Joan Phillips, Elaine Buchanan; niece, Diane Dutcher. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Pam (Stray) Tape; children, Tim (Christy) Tape, Melissa (Anthony) Shanahan, Melanie (Jerry) Corson; grandchildren, Darrin (Rebecca) Tape, Nicholas (Alyssa) Tape, Aaron (special friend, Ashley Haveman) Moederzoon, Halaynea Shanahan; great grandchildren, Kash, Jordan, Easton, Madox; brothers Kurt (Barbara) Tape, Ryan Tape; special friend, John Dutcher; and many nieces and nephews. Fritz proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy. Graveside services will be held 11 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Alaska Cemetery, on the corner of 68th St. SE and Thornapple River Drive with Rev. Peter Berg officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Legion Memorial Post 305.

Pam, Tim, Missy, Melanie and families...my dear friends. Im so sorry for your loss..I have many, many fond childhood memories and have just recently talked about the rides in the back of the truck, the times Fritz took us swimming, for ice cream, showed us bunnies in the garage and just put up with all of us..it makes my heart so happy to have those childhood memories and the cliseness of this family. as we grew older it seems it has been the harder things in life that keep us close, things like this, the loss of a loved one..you all have a special place in my heart and i hold you all very close in these hard days. Dear Pam, Tim, Missy, Melanie and family, We are so sorry for your loss. Fritz and Pam have been my friends for over 56 years. I have so many fond memories of both of them. Bill and I will miss Fritz a lot. The last words he said to me were "I love you". Rest in peace my wonderful friend. The Lord welcomed you into heaven and now you are with your grandsons and the rest of your family in heaven. We will see you again someday. Prayers for all of the family.
