Frances Dunn

Frances Dunn (Grasmeyer), age 79, of Walker, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family and always put others before herself. Fran and her husband, Jim, enjoyed winters in Florida together, establishing many special friendships during their time there. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ann Grasmeyer, her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Ruth Grasmeyer, sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and John Van Dyk. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, James, who faithfully cared for Fran during her nine year journey with Multiple Myeloma; her children and grandchildren, Jim and Karen Dunn (Katie and Zach Bohl and their soon to arrive son, Kristi and Cody Stuive, Justin Dunn), Jeff and Kim Dunn (Jake Dunn and fiance Ale Lopez, Josh Dunn, Jordan Dunn); her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob Dunn, Barb Dunn, Dottie and Bob Goorhouse, Arlene Dunn; her special friend Betty; her special cousins, Art and Evie Grasmeyer, Ria and Wiebe Olijve, and other loving cousins in the Netherlands. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 11:00 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Jessica Shults officiating.  Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8 pm and also Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Holland or to Standale Reformed Church College Scholarship Fund.  The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ashmead,  Dr. Brinker, and her chemo nurse, Susie,  for the love and compassionate care given to Fran.

  3. I am up here visiting Mom from Florida and just saw funeral notice this morning and it was too late to make it to the service. Mom wanted to express her condolences to you and the family along with my brother Jerry and I. It would have been nice to see you all again. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your family.
