I have so many memories of Auntie Celia. They are all small, little things that represent much of my memories of childhood itself: the screened in porch at the lake; ice coffee; singing; card games; the glass decorations in her living room; salami sandwiches; cousins in and out; laughter; unfinished stairs; every house she owned had many floors, nooks and crannies; our trip to Poland before the fall of Communism; seeing joy and worry both in one of her smiles... thank you, Auntie Celia for helping us all understand the richness of family. My deepest condolences to the entire family. I will always have fond memories of Aunt Celia, one of my mom's dearest friends. We spent Many great times together camping and boating and meeting at "Chalet on the Lake" for some great vacation time. She was a kind loving generous lady, who always treated me like a princess!

Suzanne Halm 5:47 PM (0 minutes ago) to me I have many wonderful memories of my dear baby sister, Cenia!. She was a loving, caring sister, daughter, and mother. Celia had a beautiful voice and love of music. She shared that love with all of us - her family, her friends, her Church. She brought joy to our lives through her music. Cenia was also a thoughtful daughter who took special care of our father before his death and then our mother through the years. I will miss her ........... my prayers are withall our family. My memories of Aunt Celia were of a romantic,hard working,fantastic cook,compassionate mom who was my Mom's friend since high school.She loved to be surrounded by family, food n fun. Aunt Celia sang at my wedding in 1977 n brought me to tears during "Ava Maria".Please accept my humble condolences.

My sister, Nancy, and I have many fond memories of Auntie Celia. When we were growing up, she was always our glamorous, beautiful Aunt. Both of us remember being in her wedding to Ross. Auntie Celia looked like a princess......... a fairy tale in a gorgeous white gown and tiara. Nancy and I wore darling pink dresses (with petticoats that made the skirt extend out 2 feet!!!) and carried a basket of flowers that was to be put in front of the statue of the Virgin Mary. We got to sleep with Auntie Celia the night before the wedding - what a treat for us (probably not so much for her!!!) One of our favorite memories of her, was her gift to us for a performance of the Bolshoi Ballet in downtown Chicago. I still remember how awe struck we were by the beauty of the ballet, the glamour of the theater, and the sophistication of the crowd. Thank you, Auntie Celia, for exposing us to the Arts! We will always remember her for her delicious food (especially her strawberry jello and pecan waffles!!!); Cosmos by the ocean in Florida; beautiful singing voice; love of the Arts; kind words of advice; fun activities and card games, and her great love and care of all her family. Remembering all the fun times with Auntie Celia, my mom, David, Chris, Darryl, and Donnie picking cherries and then making pierogies together. And one Easter, we were all together and Auntie Celia loaded all the kids and my mom into the VW van to go for Easter basket blessing way across GR in search of an ethic church that would do the blessing. I think it was Lithuanian or Slovic; it wasn't Polish. We kids wanted to eat our chocolate on the way home, but we weren't allowed!!! Oh and swimming in Pickerel Lake off the pontoon boat!!! Wonderful memories of Auntie Celia and how she loved to get us all together. And the most dear memory...she sang "Ave Maria" at my wedding! Love you Auntie Celia!!!
