Barbara Sturgis

Barbara Kathleen Sturgis, age 64, of Jenison, went home to be with her Lord after a lingering illness, on Saturday, May 12, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Madeline (Alferink) Johnson; and brothers-in-law, Don Carlson and Dave Zielinski. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heather (Terry) Spetoskey; son, Arron Sturgis; grandchildren, Kailey and Carissa Spetoskey; sisters and brothers, Linda Carlson, Diane (Jim) Lipscomb, Doug (Mary) Johnson, Brenda Zielinkski, Jim (Cathy) Johnson, Denise Johnson, Cindy Wilcox, Lori (Mark) Harvala, Brian (Chrissy) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Barb’s family was very important to her, as well as, helping and serving at her church, especially working with the youth ministry. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Ada Bible Church - Knapp Street Campus, 3869 Knapp St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, with Pastor Wes Dupin officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
