Thelma J. (Piers) Veneklasen, age 92, of Holland, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a brief illness on Thursday, July 11, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Veneklasen; sisters, Lorraine Vader, Virginia Timmer, Beatrice McManus; and brothers, Julian Piers, Robert Piers. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Eugene and Marian Piers; brother-in-law, Marvin Veneklasen; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She enjoyed working at Freedom Village in their marketing department after retiring as a secretary. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Freedom Village, 145 Columbia Ave, Holland, with Dr. Bill Brownson officiating. Interment will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Freedom Village Residents’ Scholarship Fund, c/o Administrative Dept., 145 Columbia Ave, Holland, MI 49423.
