Lydia Tamminga, age 88, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 22, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mary and Ed Geskus, Glenn and Nancy Tamminga, Mark and Sue Tamminga; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Mary Ann VanBemmel; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; extended family and friends.  Lydia loved her Lord, her family, and caring for her grandchildren and as a nurse at Blodgett ICU.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunset Manor and Emmanuel Hospice for the care and love shown to Lydia. Memorial services will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Daniel Bud officiating.  Interment will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday, March 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to World Renew or Emmanuel Hospice.

Our sympathies on your loss. The candy lady will for forever live in our hearts and memories over in Sioux Center, Iowa! I'll always remember how hospitable she was when I visited Grand Rapids in 1992 with my high school singing group and she opened up her home to us rowdy boys. 😊
