Linda E. (Breen) Monroe, age 69, of Grandville, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, June 2, 2019.  Linda was the matriarch and guiding light of her family. Her passion and intellect has always driven and inspired us to achieve things we didn’t know we could. She fiercely loved her family and had a passion for people, gardening, and animals. We will all miss her spirit, guidance, and strength. Linda spent over 40 years trying to help others in their moment of need while working for Blodgett, and then Spectrum, in the blood bank. She was a truly incredible and inspirational woman that will be greatly missed.  Those who have been blessed by her presence are better because of it. We will all miss her! She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Hazel Breen.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, George Monroe; children, Eric and Kirstyn Monroe, Stacey Monroe (Chad); brother, Lyle Jr. and Judy Breen; sister; Darlene and Don Hollerback; and many nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends may meet the family during a memorial visitation on Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 4-7 p.m. in the Memories Room at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the cancer charity of your choice.

Dear Stacey and Monroe Family, So sorry for your loss. I have had few conversations with Linda when we were still housed at Blodgett. The passion and dedication to her craft was very well felt. SHe may be gone but will never be forgotten. My Condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the Monroe family.

Stacey and Family, My heart goes out to you as you say goodbye to this very special lady. Linda was one of the first people to welcome me to Spectrum Health many years ago. She was a joy to be around. She could lift spirits through her mere presence. I hope that presence will remain with us always. Diane Currow

Praying for you during this difficult time. Linda was a huge help to me when I worked in the Blodgett blood bank. Always willing to answer questions even when I called her at home! So sad for the family. I really thought Linda had a chance to beat this cancer.
