Kathrine Walsh

Kathrine Johanna Walsh, age 93, of Wyoming, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of  32 years, Gerald. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Thomas and Debra Walsh, Karen and Steve Oppenneer, Susan Walsh; grandchildren: Michael and Karyn, Dan and Bridget, Kevin and Abby, Kelly and Brian, Jeff; six great grandchildren; brother Frank Gries; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  She was one of nine children born to John and Theresa Gries. Kathrine was a kind, loving, caring woman who delighted in talking and interacting with others, even spending an hour on the phone with a wrong number. The joy of her life was her grandchildren, especially watching them grow to adulthood. She was a hard working, determined woman who was faithful to her God and family.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson SW, Byron Center, with Msgr. Bill Duncan officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Sebastian Building Fund.
