On December 7, 1957, Larry and Joan Seeley brought into this world, Dan Robert Seeley. As if a premonition to Dan’s life, he could not wait to start living it and arrived three months early and Dan promptly got busy living life on his own terms, perhaps knowing he would leave this planet way too early. On January 13, 2019, at the age of 61, God decided it was time for Dan to come home and waiting to meet him was his father, Larry Seeley and his niece, Shanna Seeley. Surviving Dan is his wife, Joy.  Between the two of them, they raised eight fur babies in their 29 year marriage, Bobo, Wang Pu, Chelsea Monday, Boomer, Liberty, Bosco, Peanut, and Gidget, a couple of cats, a ton of fish, and an iguana. Dan is also survived by his mother, Joan Seeley; two brothers, Richard (Heidi) Seeley, Larry Seeley; one sister, Kathy (Clint) Morford; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Sally) Seeley, Cole (Treisch) Seeley, Barry Seeley, and Miranda Seeley; three great-nephews; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dan started work at Grand Valley State University in 1983 as a special events technician and retired after 30 years of service.  He truly loved his job there and had fun doing it and made many, many friends and memories over the years, including the one where he met his wife, Joy. Dan’s interests in life were vast, many, and sometimes, just left you scratching your head.  They included scuba diving, metal detecting, astronomy, fractals, black holes, feedback, Lord of the Rings, golf cart rides with the dogs, local history, archaeology and building the ultimate sound system.  Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Community of Christ, 4790 Jacob St. SW, Grandville, MI. Services and celebration will be held at Community of Christ on Thursday, January 17, starting at 11 a.m. followed by a reception where food, fellowship, friendship and laughter will be served.  Please come and join his family in this celebration and bring your memories with you. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Harbor Humane Society, a No-Kill Shelter for animals, in Dan’s name: https://harborhumane.org/donate/. Dan has chosen his final resting place to be at Ridgeview Memorial Garden, 5151 8th Avenue SW, Grandville, MI.
