Zetye, Robert John

ZETYE: Robert John Zetye, aged 81, formerly of Detroit and Bridgeport CT, passed into eternity October 6, 2011.  He was preceded in death by his son, Steven; brothers: Walter and Carl.  He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kathryn (Stephen) Barry; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Zetye; grandchildren: Christopher, Justin and Hannah Barry, Raymond (Julia), Philip, Kenneth (Becky), and Regina Zetye; great grandson, Elijah; sister and brothers: Eleanor Hanson, Louis (Peg) Zetye, Paul Zetye; cousin, Karl Gerardi; many nieces and nephews.  Robert was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was often seen helping others, whether at church or stranded motorists.  He was a faithful Detroit Tigers fan win or lose.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave, Kentwood, with Rev. Steve Shick officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
