Unseld, Charles, Gordon

Charles Gordon Unseld, age 72, walked into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, after a very brief battle with brain cancer. He was the adoring husband of Arizona Mae (Damron) Unseld; a devoted father and hero to Kiersten (Randy) VanderWest, Katrina (Jim) Cunningham, Chuck (Deb) Unseld; and the best grandpa in the world to Kati, Molly, Maegan, Austin and Cole. He is remembered fondly by family, friends, students and a church that adored him. He was a mentor, an example, and a witness for the God he loved and served. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at  Ada Bible Church (8899 Cascade Road, Ada) - Note Location Change.  Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Visitation will be Friday from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home in Grandville (4145 Chicago Drive) and Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to The Gideons International.

We love you guys and are bringing your family before our loving heavenly Father.

I had the honor of working with Chuck during his final and my first year at Renton Junior High School. He was always a happy, kind spirit who gave great advice and proudly proclaimed on my birthday "Rookie, I have socks older than you!". His upbeat attitude
was contagious and his love of his students was obvious. May God bless you and your family during this time of grief and take solice in knowing that he is now in God's loving arms.

Knowing Chuck was an immense blessing to me. I know that he would want us to rejoice in his going home because Chuck knew that there was no greater gift than meeting his Savior. Zoni, I know that there will be a void in your life and the lives of your
family and I am saddened for you. Chuck had a presence about him that was bigger than life itself. He never met anyone that he didn't share the gospel with, show them that great big smile of his, and engage them like no other. He was infectious and he left
an indelible impression on those he met. His love for his Lord was his greatest gift to anyone who knew him and I am left with that wonderful memory of the man you loved. May the God of all give you and your family the peace that passeth all understanding.
I am honored and blessed to have known him.

I am saddened for those who knew and loved Chuck, but rejoice in the Lord that another soul now occupies heaven. Praise God for Chuck's faith and willingness to witness. I taught kdg. at St. John's Lutheran, Waltz, and knew Chuck as he came to aide our
students. He also coached my sons at Huron. May your family have peace in God's mercy to remove all suffering. God be with you all.

Dear Kiersten, Randy, and family, I am so so sorry for the loss of your dad. To have raised such a wonderful daughter, he as well as your mom, were and are a special kind of people. Apparently God needed more men like him in heaven. My prayers, love, and
thoughts go out to you today and always..... Godspeed:)
