Talsma, Marvin Jay
Marvin Jay Talsma, age 81, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. He faithfully served his God and his country and was the founder of Talsma Drywall. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geneva VanSolkema, Evelyn Knott; and brother, Carroll (Bud) Talsma. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Marcia; children, Sue and Roger Vanderheide, Paul and Victoria Talsma; grandchildren, Leighann and Andy VanPopering, Marcus, Spencer, and Graham Vanderheide, Emma, Olivia and Zhoey Talsma; great-granddaughter, Lyza; brother, Nelson (Ted) and Marilyn Talsma; brothers-in-law, Abe and Doris Marcus, Stanley and Vivian Marcus, Don and Doris Marcus, Cordell and Sharon Marcus; sisters-in-law, Katherine Talsma, and Dorothy Aldricks. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at Jenison Bible Church (6360 14th Avenue, Hudsonville) with Rev. Lee Buer and Rev. C.J. den Dulk officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or The Calvin Christian Education Foundation.
