SIKKEMA: Joanne (TerKeurst) Sikkema, age 85, of Wyoming, entered into the Presence of the Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald. Her gentle and loving spirit will be dearly missed by her children, Jerry and Judy Sikkema, Judy and Jim Van Wyk, Jack Sikkema, Joan and Tom Staal, Jim and Marie Sikkema; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Richard and Betty TerKeurst, Maynard and Mary TerKeurst; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Florence and John Zuidersma; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. with Rev. Tom Swieringa officiating. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvin Christian School Tuition Assistance Fund. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Harrison and staff at Spectrum Health ICU for the compassion and loving care given to Joanne during her time there.

Our deepest sympathies to our family. We will always have very fond memories of the many birthday parties spent at Pinery Park, the birthday parties and celebrations in grandpa and grandmas back yard and always the spam on buns that we used to eat after church on Sunday nights...We love and miss you grandma.
