Caroline “Carol” Shoemaker, age 84, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gene; infant daughter, Nancy Jean; and son-in-law Robert Karell. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Linda Karell, Sherry Ward (Jerry McDermott), Sue (Craig) Howe; grandchildren Stephani (Steve) Czadzeck, Ryan (Brenda) Karell, Lindsay (Eric) Koopmans, Allison Karell, Scot (Jenny) Latimer, Steve (Amanda) Latimer, Krisi Stolk, Shelli Howe (fiancé John Schwing), Kevin (Erin) Howe; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Rairigh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Parish (3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville) with Father Chris Rouech Celebrant. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive.Guestbook
