SELL - Esther Ruth Sell, aged 81 of Kentwood, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 and is now serving her master in heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. M.R. (Tex) Sell Jr.; brothers, Hank and Wayne. She will be greatly missed by her children; Kimberley and Scott Ball of Spring Lake; Kara and Sam Nabkey of Ada; grandsons, Phillip and Tyler; sister-in-law, Phyllis VanderLaan and her children, Brenda, Bryan and Belinda. Esther was an avid golfer and she volunteered at many places, especially at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Funeral services for Esther will be held 1 pm Friday at Calvary Church Chapel, 707 East Beltline NE (entrance C), Grand Rapids, with Rev. Josh Mateer. Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 7-9pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo SE, Kentwood and Friday 12-1pm prior to the funeral service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to G.R. Home for Veterans- “Vet Tones.” The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to the entire medical team at Blodgett for their loving care of Esther.Guestbook

I played golf with Esther for many years at Saskatoon, Briarwood and Indian Trails. She was a friendly and caring woman, and I enjoyed her friendship very much. I will miss her. I am so sorry for your loss.

that her mother was her best friend, I'm sure she was a wise, caring, loving, woman with a great sense of humor, who will be greatly missed by many. For all who loved her so deeply, my sincerest condolences.
