SCHUUR: Gary Lee Schuur, age 63, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 27, 2011. Gary faithfully served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at Michigan Bell for many years and retired in 1992. He was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Schuur. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; their children and grandchildren, Kevin and Brooke Schuur (Colter, Aliya, Makiah, Emerson), Ricky and Renee Schuur (Maddison, Mackenzie), Amy and Jeremy Hoekstra (Aubrey, Jordan); mother, Frances Schuur; brothers and sister, Gaylord and Nancy Schuur, Wayne and Corinne Schuur, Donna Witcomb; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Connie Zichterman; brothers -in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Nancy Zichterman, Gene and Joan Zichterman, Rick and Joan Zichterman, Ron Zichterman. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00am at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Dr., with Rev. Donald Van Slyke officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hudsonville High School Athletic Boosters. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr.Guestbook

Pat, I didn't get to see you at the funeral home but I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed my friendship with Gary (Boz). He was always a great supporter of me and the baseball program and it meant a lot to me. I enjoyed knowing him as a student, baseball
