REEDER – Patricia “Pat” Ann Reeder,(Gressler) age 77, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.  She was born in Grand Rapids to Edward and Leona Gressler.  She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1952 followed by graduation as a Registered Nurse in 1955 from Mercy Central School of Nursing.  Upon graduation, she married Douglas W. Reeder in October of 1955.  She worked for St. Mary’s Hospital and Crestview Nursing Center and between careers raised five children.   She was a longtime member and volunteer at Holy Name of Jesus and St. John Vianney Parishes.  Faith and service were always a cornerstone of her daily life.  Pat enjoyed her time at Silver Lake, playing cards, time with family, grandchildren, outings with her nursing friends, and loving and fond memories of living on Boone Ave with wonderful neighbors and friends.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Catherine Szymanski, brothers, Eugene Gressler, Mike Gressler and Donnie Gressler and in-laws, Maxine Leatherman and Jack Reeder. Surviving are her husband of 55years, Douglas W. Reeder; children, Daniel and Kimberly Reeder of Grand Rapids, Scott and Shelly Reeder of Wyoming, Gregory Reeder of Middleville, Tom and Maggie Reeder of Wyoming, Lisa Szymanski of Mt. Pleasant; 15 grandchildren, Joseph, Maria, Angela, Bryan, Nathan, Jacob, Andrew, Eric, Samantha, Patricia Reeder, Heather, Richard, Rustin Scott; Elizabeth, Ryan, Kyle Szymanski;6 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Germaine and James Stellard, Kathleen and Tom O’Hearn, Barbara and Ken Ritter, David and Nancy Gressler, Kenneth and Annie Gressler; in-laws, Mary Anne Gressler, Bob Leatherman, Bonnie Reeder, Nancy and LaVerne DeYoung, Russ and Pat Reeder; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 8am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW with Fr. Mike Alber presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 6-8pm and Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with a Rosary Friday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Ann’s Home or the American Cancer Society.
