Poll, Elsie
Elsie (Poskey) Poll, age 89, entered the presence of her Savior and Lord on January 7, 2012. Her mind is restored and renewed; her joy is complete. She was preceded in death by her husband, Webb. She is survived by her children, Jim and Marcia Poll, Denise and Bob Poll and Judy and Doug Mesman; grandchildren, Jim and Sarah Poll, Chad and Amanda Poll, Lindy and Adam Ter Beek, Ross and Kara Poll, Becky and Jason Schipper, Julie and Jeff Cnossen, Josie and Josh Sutton, Tyler Mesman; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Elsie is also survived by her siblings, Mary Miller, Lois and Len Scripsema, Bud and Joanne Poskey, Janet and Jim Reynierse, and Gwen Poll. Fred Miller, Crystal Poskey, Harold and Minnie Poll, and Louis Poll preceded her to heaven. For the last number of years Elsie lived under the cloud of dementia, but prior to that she found fulfillment in teaching piano lessons and playing the organ for her church. She was a woman of prayer whose love for her Lord was evident to all; she helped many, and led by her quiet, Christian example. Her faith, her family, music and travel were her passions. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 12 at First Reformed Church, 3060 Wilson, Grandville, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Geneva, 3995 Lakeshore Drive N, Holland, MI 49424. Elsie’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been blessed by the ministry of Camp Geneva. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Cambridge Manor for the excellent and loving care that Elsie received for so many years.

Dear Jim, Denise, Judy & families, Imagine how your beloved mother is enjoying the music of heaven! I have such fond memories of your parents and growing up at First Reformed. I can pictures her at the organ and my dad (before his heart attack) leading
the song service. And I can picture your dad leading the post-high Sunday school class in a corner of the balcony, welcoming discussion from the assorted college students home for the weekend. After my dad died, they did so many thoughtful things for my mom.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

Dear Janet and Family, Oh, what a loving tribute to your sister Elsie. I, too, have very fond memories of seeing Elsie and Webb at First Reformed. They were so gracious to my children, assisting them to Sunday School, when they were young and we visted
with my parents. What a day of rejoicing as you celebrate her graduation day to glory!

My daughters Leslie and Katrina had Elsie for their piano teacher. They were blessed by her expertise, enthusiasm and charm.I have thought of her often over the years especially when I drove by her home. Please accept our condolences.
