MEYERING – George Meyering aged 82 of Byron Center, a humble man devoted to his faith and family, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Meyering; grandson, Luke Deemter; brother, Al (Anne) Meyering; brothers-in-law, Harm Heuker, Harold Heuker and Chuck Kamphouse. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Annette (Heuker) Meyering; his children, Alvin (Mary Vanderlaan) Meyering of New York, Joanne Meyering of Walker, Kathy Meyering of Caledonia, Mary (Mike) Dykema of Holland, Paul Meyering of Colorado, Ruth (Jim) Deemter of Allendale, Sarah Ulrich of Hastings; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his brother, Leslie (Carole) Meyering; sisters,  Beth (William) Olthoff, Freda Kamphouse; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elsie Meekhof, James (Elois) Heuker, Gertrude Heuker, Mildred (John) Roozeveld, Theodore (Marlene) Heuker, Harriet (Fred) DeVries, William (Kay) Heuker, John (Donna) Heuker; and many nieces and nephews. George was the hands and feet of Jesus in his work with Disaster Relief Services. He was well regarded as a finish carpenter and worked on the Gerald R. Ford and Grand Rapids Museums. A Celebration Service for George will be held Saturday at 6:00 pm at First Byron Center Christian Reformed Church, 2480 – 85th St. SW with Pastor Ron Noorman, Pastor Tom Groelsema and Pastor Andrea DeWard officiating. Interment in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Disaster Relief Services of CRWRC or Breton Rehabilitation Home.

We rejoice with all of you that Grandpa is in the arms of the Lord he loved and served. He was a delightful, dear man. We are praying for you all, during this painful time, that you will most certainly feel the loving arms of our Heavenly Father comforting
you and upholding you.

Many poor people down here in Texas know George as the loving humble man with a green CRWRC shirt who represented Christ by his actions and fine work getting them back in their homes after a disaster.
