Carrier, Robert (Bob) John
CARRIER: Robert (Bob) John Carrier, age 74 of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 21, 2011. He passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife, Marilyn, of 53 years. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered by his wife, son Bill (Denise), daughter Kathy (Jim) Black, son Larry (Kathy), son John (Mary), 10 grandchildren, and sister Mary Jo (Doug) Stout. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric. Bob greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. He particularly enjoyed spending the last several winters with his wife in Florida. Bob was an avid antique car enthusiast and proudly took his grandchildren for rides in his 1930 Model A. He retired in 2002 from a long and rewarding career at Price Heneveld and served on the Grandville City council for 17 years (1981–1997). He made an impact on everyone who knew him and he will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a prayer vigil at 8:30 pm and on Friday from 9-10 am at the church prior to service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to “Remember Eric-Fight Childhood Cancer” www.ericcarrier.com, an organization near to Bob’s heart.Guestbook

Marilyn and family, I was shocked and saddened to learn of Bob's passing in the LDN. I always enjoyed our get-togethers to reminisce about our childhood antics and the many good times we shared. I will miss him but know that he is now at peace with the
