Irene J. Brill, aged 90, of Newaygo, went to her eternal home with Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. She was welcomed at Heaven’s gate by her loving husband, Bud Brill; her grandson, Christopher Brill; her great-grandson, Jacob Skogmo; her parents, Peter and Dena Visser; her brothers-in-law, Larry Alkema, Gerry Telman, and Marv Weaver. Irene had a very full life. She and her husband of 66 years founded Woods and Waters Campground which was more of a Christian Calling than a business to them. She loved her road trips and managed to visit 49 states. She completed everything on her “bucket list”, including a truck trip to Alaska 2 years ago. She loved Jesus and faithfully attended Victory Fellowship Church in Newaygo and First Assembly of God in Fort Meyers, Florida. Irene was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her children, Bob and Paula Brill, Dick and Sandy Brill, Sue and Jim Grable, Ralph and Deb Brill, Sheri Solloway, Sandy and Rich Devroy; 49 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lila Alkema, Esther Telman, Marrianne and Don Huizenga, Bea Weaver; brother, Bill and Von Visser; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sally Vankuiken , Janet and Lee Kihnke; and many nieces,nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11:00 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive with Rev. Dave Russell officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to RBC Ministries (Radio Bible Class).
