Beld, Isla

BELD:  Isla (Stegink) Beld, age 81, of Jenison, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil “Bub” Beld, and her parents, Ben and Minnie (Windemuller) Stegink.  She is survived by her stepchildren, Mrs. Nancy (John) Sage of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Mary (John) Gort of Bailey, Mr. Doug (Lynne) Beld of Grandville; brothers, Mr. Jack (Betty) Stegink, Mr. Paul (Charlene) Stegink; sister-in-law, Mrs. Marie Beld; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Isla was a graduate of Holland Christian High School, attended Hope College for three years and received a B.S. Degree from Calvin College upon interning at Butterworth Hospital.  She worked at Butterworth as a medical technologist until 1976.  She and her husband then spent winters in Boynton Beach, FL and summers on Lake Michigan at Maranatha Bible Conference in Muskegon, MI.  Funeral services will be held 11am Monday at LaGrave Ave. Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. John Steigenga officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. and from 10-11am Monday at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to New Creation Prison Ministries.
