Badanek, Mary

BADANEK: Mary Badanek, age 87, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2011. She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Chuck; daughter, Charlotte; brothers, Tony and John Pezo. She will be greatly missed by her children, Michael Badanek, Kathy and Ken Sanders, Matthew Badanek, and Matthew's partner in life, Alex; grandchildren, Audrey and Stacie Sanders, Lauren and Joseph Badanek; brother, Michael and Martha Pezo; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Mary found joy in cooking delicious meals for her family and sharing the fruits of her large and plentiful garden that could feed half of Wyoming, where she resided for over 50 years. Help was on the way, from Mary, before anyone could think to ask for it. Her family would like to thank the caregivers of Sanctuary at St. Mary’s, where she resided for the past 13 months. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.  at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Fr. Mike Alber presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 6-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3,  at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with a rosary service at 8:30 p.m.  Visitation also from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation.
